Artist Biographies – Mrs. B’s Class

The 5th and 6th grade students have been learning about the research process through our Famous Artist Biography project.

In their art class with Mrs. Lustgarten, they learned about a variety of artists. Then in library, they chose an artist as the focus for their research. These videos are part of their final culminating project.

The idea for this project came from Mr. Avery in Massachusetts. We thank him for sharing his videos so we could learn from his project. You can visit Mr. Avery’s Classroom Blog here.

    Hi Everyone,

I had a great time listening to this interviews and to see one of my former English students on the screen.
This is a fantastic way to learn about famous artists. You all did very well!

    Hi artists-

Good job covering Andy Warhol, M.C. Escher (What DOES the M.C. stand for, anyway?) and Jackson Pollock (also known as Jack the Dripper!).

I liked the variety of facts you presented and that you all had personal favorite works of art from the artist to share with us. I even learned a few new facts myself!

I can’t wait to see you translate these facts into some wonderful pennant art!

    Well done,

    Mrs. Lustgarten
