What a Surprise

I don’t know about you, but I love surprises! Every book I read is a new surprise. What will be inside? What story will unfold? What characters will I meet? Will the story grab me and not let me go?

Surprises come in blogs too! Our BulldogReaders blog got a big surprise this week. We were selected as one of the Top 25 Educator Blogs for 2013!

Here is the comment that we received,

You’ve been honored in EducationWorld’s Top 25 Educator Blogs for 2013 list. The list represents EducationWorld’s favorite educator blogs to follow in 2013, and our team thinks that your work is worth celebrating.

Wow! What an incredible honor to be mentioned by Education World. I had no idea our blog was even being considered, so this is a super surprise! I can’t wait to visit the other blogs there and learn something new from them!

Thank You!

  1. Dear Mrs. Hembree,
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU GOT AN EMAIL SAYING THAT YOU HAVE ONE OF THE TOP 25 BEST BLOG I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU CONGRATULATIONS MRS. HEMBREE.

The best surprise for me was today (Thursday) when my teacher was sick because she is pregnant and the teacher who took over today is our teacher for the rest of the year I was so happy but so sad at the same time that my teacher who is pregnant is not going to teach any more.

    From YOUR HAPPY CHAPPY PAL,

    BB.

    • Dear BB,

Hi there Happy chappy pal! You have such a great positive attitude! Sometimes it’s really hard to deal with change, especially when the change involves your teacher. It sounds like you know how to adjust to the change. I know your school hired the best substitute they could find. That’s what schools do!

Have fun getting to know your new teacher.

I wonder what other surprises will come your way this year!
      From,
      Mrs. Hembree

  2. Dear Mrs Hembree,

How, wonderful well deserved too as I really feel your blog is simply the best. I just love visiting your blog where I learn so much from you as well learn about different books that are coming in the book world 🙂

The best surprise that I have had lately was seeing my mum out of I.C.U sitting and communicating with us all. It was and is the best surprise ever!

As for my second it would be watching BB grow every single day. Every day she always surprises me with her passion and empathy for everyone no matter who they are.

Take care Mrs Hembree and well done to you and your blog.

    From your friend down under,

    AA 🙂

    • Dear AA,
Thank you so much for your support! You and BB are the best commenters ever!

This is such good news to hear from you! I bet you are feeling more relief as your mother gets stronger.

Your daughter is also very special. You get lots of special surprises from her!

I’m taking the weekend off and going to a friend’s house. Once a year we get together and catch up talking until the wee hours of the morning!
      Enjoy your weekend!
      From,
      Mrs. Hembree

  3. Dear Mrs. Hembree,

Congratulations! That is a fabulous surprise and well deserved. Your blog is a joy to follow and I know students love it too.

The most wonderful surprise I’ve received work-related this week is an email from a principal thanking me for providing a special event for the teachers. I also received a lovely surprise from my daughter, a beautiful work of art with the inscription, “To the best mom ever.”

Thanks for the question to give me a moment to reflect.

    Kind regards,
    Tracy
