Sometimes events happen that we don’t understand and it makes us feel sad and confused. That’s how I am feeling right now and maybe it’s how you are feeling. When I feel this way, I turn to my family and books to help me feel better.

To end this post, Reese and Kasa also want you to know about one they would like you to read. Maybe you can sit down with special person in your life, a favorite pet and enjoy it. It’s called Snow Dog’s Journey by Loretta Krupinski.

  1. Dear Mrs Hembree,

What a great post I love the heading of this post “Curl up with a book”.

I have finally had the chance to visit and write a comment for it sure has been a very busy week and I haven’t had the chance to curl up with a book. Hopefully after Christmas that is what I plan to do.

Love all your photos however my favorites are the 2nd and last photo. Is that a photo of your beautiful dog and his friend. And how cute is the photo of the young children reading a story to his pet. Love it!

So many great books to read but my all time favourites are Olga the Brolga and Possum Magic.
Till this day I enjoy reading these books with BB.

Now that Christmas is just about here I do hope you and Mr Hembree have a beautiful Christmas.

From your blogging pal down under,
    AA 🙂

    • Dear AA,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! We are enjoying our time with family and friends.

I started a new book ccalled Divergent this morning that I have been saving for months. I wanted just the right time to sit down and read it. It’s not a book I can have in our library, but teens will like it.

My doggies are the ones in the last photo. Reese is the big dog and Kasa is the baby sized one in the sweater! It’s cold these days and she needs a little extra to keep her warm.

      Merry Christmas from Washington State!

  2. Dear Mrs Hembree,
Merry Christmas I hope you had an amazing Christmas day with your family and friends. I love the books that some of the First Graders were reading as I have heard of those books before and I have read some of those books before.

I just had to call Mum and tell her look MUM someone is reading Dragon’s Fat Cat as I have read one of the Dragon books before.

Mum and I looked for one of the Dragon books and we found it. It is called A friend for Dragon. Dragon asks everyone if they will be his friend but mean animals say NO!.

But then Dragon finds an apple and it is his Best Friend, Dragon took apple every where with him.

Dragon goes to the doctors because he is worried about apple. When Dragon asks the doctor something sadly someone eats Dragon’s best friend APPLE.

When it was summer Dragon sat under the apple tree and an apple fell on him but when Dragon looked up there was more apples on the tree Dragon was SO HAPPY.

At the moment I am reading The Wide Window By Lemony Snickets my goal is to read all 13 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. So far the Baudelaire Orphans they move to their Aunt Josephine’s house which is a house on the edge of a hill the bad news is a Hurricane is coming in a Week so they have to get loads of supplies.

Aunt Joshephine is scared of everything she is scared of Burglars so she has cans at the front of every door. The house has eight tall pieces of wood holding the house.

I am enjoying this book so much. I just adored the picture of Reese and the fluffy other cute dog. I would add the book A friend for Dragon book on your list.

    From your pal,

    BB.

    • Dear BB,

Thank you for the incredible comment you left today! Plus you are on vacation! Wow- I am impressed!

I had to laugh when I found out you like Dav Pilkey too! Thousands of readers know him for his Captain Underpants books, but personally, my favorite series is his Dragon series! Dragon makes me laugh a lot! He also makes my students laugh, so we have a great time when we read his books together!

We read A Friend for Dragon a couple weeks ago! It’s a good one! We also read Merry Christmas Dragon before our vacation began. The one I like the most however, is Dragon’s Fat Cat. I love the scene in the middle when Cat has left the smelly problem everywhere!

      Happy Reading!
      Mrs. Hembree
