A Rover Thank You!
The Bulldog Readers know that Mrs Hembree’s dog Reese
and Mrs. Daly’s dog Jett are both Reading with Rover doggies.
Jett and Reese are Reading Therapy dogs who help kids get comfortable with reading.
A Bulldog Reader reads to Jett and his handler, Mrs. Daly
Twice a month they go to Borders and read with children.
Kids line up to read to Reese!
When the child is done reading, they get a
Pawtograph
Some dogs have their paws stamped, but Reese is too ticklish!
They also get a bookmark from the dog.
Every Reading with Rover dog has their own individual bookmark with their picture on it!
Here are Jett and Reese's bookmarks.
The dogs get lots of pets and kisses from the kids too!
On our last reading evening for this school year, something new happened!
Reese and Jett both got Thank You notes!
Wow, thanks Sonia for making the last Rover night for this school year so memorable!

Our school year in Washington is about to end.

I would love to read with Rover! What a great experience! Dogs and reading are two of my favorite things. Putting the two of them together is wonderful!
I especially love the pawtograph. It’s a great way for students to be able to remember their experience. More amazing work from you, as always!

Dear Mrs Hembree and the Bulldog readers,
I love the fact you got to read to Jett and Reece. I am pretty sure they would have enjoyed hearing you read to them both.
I wish I was able to read to a pet dog when I was at school.
Wow how lucky you are guys your all starting your summer holidays.
Hope you all have a great holiday. We are still at school and will be for another two weeks and them we have two weeks off. Our big summer holidays start in the middle of December so we have a far while to go.
Mrs Hembree will you still be doing your blog over the summer holidays?

Thank you for the comment about our Rover doggies! Jett and Reese are very popular at our school. Jett has a brother,Silas and he is a rock star at his school too!
Yes, I will be keeping the blog going over the summer. There are some stories that I didn’t get a chance to cover during the year, that I will have time for during our time off!

I have read to a dog before and her name was Pat she is very cute and small.
It is an awesome time read when you want too.
