Green Eggs and Ham

We  had a little Dr. Seuss fun after our author visit from Samantha Vamos. Cat in the Hat walked around the school handing out bookmarks to all the students. We also served green eggs and ham for lunch.  From start to finish, it was a fun day celebrating reading and Dr. Seuss’s life as one of our most popular children’s authors.

  4. It looks like you have had fun with The Cat in the Hat. Where did you get the green eggs and ham from?

  5. Dear Lucy,
Thank you for visiting our blog from Scotland! This is very exciting for our students to see comments from around the world!
We had a lot of fun with Cat in the Hat! He brought everyone special Dr. Seuss bookmarks and visited people eating green eggs and ham!
Actually green eggs are not so hard to make. Our lunch kitchen made them. You can do it 2 different ways. You can add blue food coloring to eggs and they will turn green. Why? Because blue + yellow makes green. Most people just add green food coloring to the eggs. You can’t taste it, and it’s fun to look at.
Do children in Scotland read Dr. Seuss books? Do you have a favorite book?
    From,
    Mrs. Hembree
